Welcome Bags
If your guests are traveling for your wedding a well thought out welcome bag is a great way to show your gratitude. These can be different from wedding gift bags or favors. You will be hosting many people on your wedding day and you will not have enough time to be with each of your dear guests.
Here are some of the best wedding welcome bag ideas, including the essentials and a few ways to make them extra special!
Something to eat. Include something savory and something sweet. Invite your guests into your life in Colorado through local foods you love. Colorado has delicious local candy companies like, Hammonds and Enstrom. My favorites are the Mitchell Sweets at Hammonds and the Almond Toffee from Enstrom. Pastries or a cupcake from your favorite bakery would also be perfection!
Bobo’s Oat bars and Boulder Canyon Chips are both made here in Colorado!
Something to drink. This helps your guests immediately set the mood. Bottled water is the easiest way to go but you can consider gifting your favorite wine or tea. Did you know there are many small Colorado tea makers? One tea maker you likely know is Celestial Seasonings Tea.
Something for the next day. Weddings are fun, sometimes a little too fun. Advil or a Hangover recovery kit will have your guests thanking you the next day. One of my favorites are customized party patches with your picture. Consider including sunscreen and lip balm, necessities in Colorado! This will be especially appreciated by those from out of town, and would make lovely inclusions to a wedding welcome bag for hotel guests!
Something personal. To personalize a welcome bag, include a lovely note, welcoming your guests with key information. Adding an experience, tying to the location of your wedding, would be the ultimate detail to add. Here are a few of my favorite ideas for experiences to gift;
- A gift card to a local boutique coffee house with a note on a recommended drink you love.
- Your go to, locally made Chapstick, because in Colorado we all need it.
- Your favorite tea for your guests to enjoy when they wake up.
- A map to your favorite hike or scenic view. Include a note that explains how the location is special to you.
- A personalized note, thanking your guests for coming, highlighting what they mean to you.
I hope this helps you get beautiful welcome gifts together for your guests. If you’ve come up with something you know your guests loved tell me! I love seeing what people do for their loved ones and I love sharing ideas!
